Handwriting/Printing Is Ineffective

How To Help Children and Youth When Their Handwriting/Printing Is Ineffective

Lacks Size & Shape Consistency; Letters Unreadable; Dysgraphia; Dyslexic Dysgraphia; Motor Dysgraphia; Spatial Dysgraphia

Unreadable printing or writing can slow educational progress and can also be a great nuisance in later life. It can be due to and complicated by a combination of: co-ordination difficulties; lack of instruction based on learning styles; lack of practice; lack of encouragement; genetic factors; vision challenges; family coordination patterns; nervous tension due to accidents, prolonged emotional stress, and all types of abuses; lack of sleep; learning difficulties; focusing/perceptual challenges; memory challenges. It can also be a sign of depression, anger, frustration, and a lack of confidence. Being worried about and reminded of poor handwriting tends to make the challenge worse. Alert relaxation improves it. Using computers can help children & youth whose handwriting is not clear; however, using computers for communicating can deteriorate handwriting and printing because good handwriting needs practice.
