Concentration Problems

How To Help Children And Youth With Concentration Problems

Paying Attention Is Difficult; Attention And Focus Wanders Or Bounces;
Loses Or Forgets Things; Disorganized

Lacking concentration skills can make effective learning very challenging. It can lead to overlooking social cues, and thus getting into trouble a great deal. It can make social relations difficult, and can reduce joy and self-confidence. Children & youths with these conditions are often considered as unintelligent or emotionally disturbed. Difficulty concentrating may be a sign of other learning difficulties. It may be due to a combination of: age; over or under-expectation; nutritional imbalances; lack of exercise; lack of deep rest and relaxation; over or under-stimulating environments; exposure to environmental pollutants; allergies; poor health; physical disorganization due to stress, abuses of all kinds; accidents; emotional challenges; genetics; family patterns; isolation; problematic physical organization; family patterns and role models; lack of purpose for concentrating; inconsistent and unappreciative home/school environment..
